Every November for the past several years, Lowry Beer Garden has brought the neighborhood together to help provide beautiful Thanksgiving dinners to 30 needy families from Denver Children’s Home. Here’s how it works: between November 1 and November 18, bring in five non-perishable food donations from the approved list below and receive 10% off your entire check. Lowry Beer Garden will match your generosity by donating all of the turkeys. Then on the Monday before Thanksgiving, the Lowry Beer Garden staff will deliver the food to Denver Children’s Home and assemble the bags containing the meals. The following day, volunteers from the DCH will deliver the meals to the families. This truly is our favorite program of the year. We hope you will join us!
Approved non-perishable food items: stuffing, instant boxed potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, canned pumpkin, canned green beans, canned corn, canned peas/carrots, canned olives, canned fruit, canned cranberry sauce, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, bagged almonds, unrefrigerated pie crust, bread mixes, jello, cake mixes and frosting.
Denver Children’s Home restores hope and health to traumatized children and families through a comprehensive array of therapeutic, educational and community-based services.
